How to Use Solomon — Getting Started Guide

Getting Started with Solomon

A step-by-step guide to your leadership coaching experience. Solomon is designed to be intuitive, but this guide covers everything you need to know to get the most out of every session.

Step 1

Accessing Solomon

Solomon is a private coaching platform. You'll need your unique access code to begin. This code was provided to you by your coach when you started your coaching engagement.

Tip If your code is not recognized, double-check the format and try again. If you continue to have trouble, contact your coach directly.
3

You're in

Once authenticated, Solomon opens directly into your coaching workspace. Your name and access code appear in the top bar for reference. You're ready to start your first session.

Step 2

Setting Up Your Profile

Your profile helps Solomon tailor every session to who you are, what you do, and how you think. It takes about two minutes to complete, and you only need to do it once. Everything is optional.

1

Open My Profile

Tap "My Profile" in the top navigation bar. A panel will open where you can enter your information.

2

Fill in your details

Your profile has three sections. Complete as much or as little as you'd like.

👤

About You

Your name, what you do, what world you work in, and whether you manage others.

🎯

What You're Working On

What you're trying to get better at, and what people already come to you for.

🧠

Personality Profile

Add results from any personality assessments you've taken: DiSC, MBTI, Enneagram, CliftonStrengths, and more.

Why this matters The more context Solomon has about you, the more specific and relevant every coaching session becomes. For example, if you've taken a DiSC assessment, Solomon will factor your communication style into the advice and strategies he provides.
3

Save your profile

Tap "Save Profile" when you're done. Your information is stored securely and will be used automatically in every future session. You can update it anytime by returning to My Profile.

Step 3

Starting a Coaching Session

Every session begins with Solomon asking you a few focused questions. These aren't a form to fill out. They're the start of the coaching conversation. Answer naturally and honestly.

1

Solomon greets you

When you start a session, Solomon opens with a greeting and asks his first question. If you've used Solomon before, he may reference your previous sessions.

2

Select your leadership level

Solomon asks where you are in your leadership journey. Tap the card that best describes your current role. This shapes the language, tone, and depth of your entire session.

Solomon
Where are you in your leadership journey right now? Not where you want to be, where you actually are.

Choose the level that describes where you are right now. "Mid-Level Leader" is selected in this example.
Tip If you're not sure which level fits, pick the one closest to your current responsibilities. Solomon adapts his approach based on your selection, so an individual contributor will receive different guidance than a senior executive for the same situation.
3

Choose your context

Solomon asks whether this is a work situation or a personal one, then asks you to identify the general nature of the challenge. Tap the option that fits best.

People & Relationships

Difficult conversations, conflict, feedback, trust, team dynamics

Self & Capacity

Boundaries, burnout, confidence, visibility, self-doubt

Decisions & Direction

Competing priorities, unclear path, strategic choices

Performance & Accountability

Underperformance, culture issues, driving results

4

Revising a previous answer

Made a mistake or want to change a previous answer? Tap on any of your previous responses (they show a small pencil icon) and Solomon will restart from that point. Everything after your revised answer will be rebuilt.

Step 4

The Coaching Conversation

This is where Solomon differs from other tools. Instead of immediately generating advice, Solomon explores your situation first. He'll ask follow-up questions to understand what's really going on before offering guidance.

1

Describe your situation

Solomon asks you to describe what's happening. Be as specific as you can: who's involved, what the tension is, and what feels hardest right now. The more honest and detailed you are, the more precise Solomon's coaching will be.

Solomon
Tell me what's happening. Who's involved, what's the tension, and what feels hardest right now. Don't edit yourself.
Describe what's going on…

Solomon asks, you answer. Write naturally about what you're experiencing.
2

Solomon asks follow-up questions

After you share your situation, Solomon will ask one or two follow-up questions. These are specific to what you just said, designed to uncover what's underneath the surface. Answer them the same way you'd answer a trusted coach sitting across from you.

Why Solomon asks before answering The best coaching comes from understanding, not assumptions. Solomon's follow-up questions help him identify patterns, blind spots, and root causes that a single description might not reveal. This exploratory conversation typically produces significantly more useful guidance than a one-step intake.
3

Set your urgency and desired outcome

Before Solomon builds your coaching response, he asks two final things: how urgent this feels (which affects the pacing and intensity of his recommendations) and what you want to walk away with (which keeps the advice focused on your actual goal).

4

Solomon generates your response

Solomon takes a moment to build your personalized coaching response. You'll see his logo mark while he works. The response is built from everything you shared across the entire conversation, not just a single field.

Step 5

Understanding Your Results

Solomon's coaching response is organized into clear sections. You can navigate through them one at a time using the section tabs, or scroll through the full response.

1

Session summary

A concise framing of your situation and what Solomon is addressing. This is often not what you think the problem is on the surface, but what's actually driving the situation underneath.

2

Root issue

Solomon identifies the underlying leadership challenge. This section names what's really going on, which is the foundation everything else builds on.

3

Action steps

Five to seven concrete, immediately actionable steps. Each one is a specific behavior or decision, not a vague concept. If your situation is urgent, the first step will focus on stabilization.

4

Applied coaching tool

The centerpiece of your session. Depending on your challenge type, this might be a word-for-word conversation script you can use, a boundary plan with specific language, a decision filter with ranked questions, or a practical framework you can apply immediately.

5

Reflection questions

Four questions designed to push your thinking beyond the immediate problem. These are meant to sit with you after the session, not be answered immediately.

6

Milestone plan

A sequence of concrete milestones to work through at your own pace. Each milestone describes what to do and what signals completion. The final milestone includes a return trigger that tells you when to come back for your next session.

Milestone Plan
Milestone 1
Have the conversation with your manager. Use the script provided. Focus on clarity, not persuasion.
Milestone 2
Observe how the dynamic shifts over the next 3-5 interactions. Notice what changes without you forcing it.
Milestone 3
When this milestone is complete, come back and tell me what shifted. That's where we pick up next.
Milestones are sequential but not time-bound. The final milestone tells you when to return.
7

Copy and export

At the bottom of your results, you'll find options to copy the full session to your clipboard or export it as a PDF using your browser's print function. This gives you a clean record of every session.

Step 6

Continuing the Conversation

Your session doesn't end when the results appear. Solomon invites you to engage with his recommendations, ask questions, push back, or explore what's still unresolved.

1

React to the coaching

After delivering your results, Solomon says: "When you're ready, you can ask me about any part of the response, push back on something that doesn't feel right, or tell me what's still unresolved." A text input appears below.

Examples of good follow-ups "I'm not sure step 3 will work with my manager." / "What if she reacts defensively to that script?" / "Can you help me think through the timing?" / "I agree with the root issue but I don't know how to start."
2

Solomon responds conversationally

Solomon's follow-up responses are conversational, not structured. He'll defend his recommendation, adjust it based on what you're telling him, or help you think through a specific detail. This is the dialogue portion of the coaching session.

3

End when you're ready

You can continue the dialogue for several exchanges. When you feel you have what you need, tap "I'm good, end session." Solomon will close with a final thought. If the conversation has covered substantial ground, Solomon may suggest wrapping up and returning for a fresh session when you're ready.

Step 7

Reviewing Past Sessions

Every session is saved automatically. You can review any previous session in full at any time.

1

Open My Sessions

Tap "My Sessions" in the top navigation bar. A panel opens showing all of your past sessions, listed by date and challenge type.

3

Use sessions to track your growth

Over time, your session history becomes a record of your leadership development. You can see what challenges you've worked through, what patterns keep appearing, and how your approach has evolved. Solomon also references your previous sessions when they're relevant to your current situation.

Display Settings

Solomon adapts to your environment and preferences.

Light and dark mode

Solomon automatically switches between light mode (during the day) and dark mode (in the evening) based on your local time. If you prefer one mode regardless of time, tap the theme toggle button in the top bar to cycle through: Auto, Light, or Dark. Your preference is saved for your next session.

Designed for extended sessions Dark mode is optimized for low-light environments and reduces eye strain during longer coaching sessions. The color palette adapts while maintaining the same readability and structure.
